OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS, BOTH ON-CAMPUS AND OFF.

The Alpine Club offers a massive variety of activities, events and benefits to all that decide to participate. What we do can be summed-up to these very broad topics:

-Off-campus Trips
-On-Campus Programs
-Membership Hook-ups
-Community

The Off-Campus Trips
Every year the Alpine Club has about 20-25 major off-campus trips and these trips are held in places all over Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. These trips are the backbone of the club and are very popular. For the last several years we have had about 450 trip participants each year go on our adventures (what a great place to meet people). The trips range in ability types and size (from beginner to expert and from 7 people to 45 people) and are something that you do not want to miss out on..

Our trip line-ups are designed to be for beginners and experts and on most trips you will usually find a variety of skill levels. We have some trips that are specifically for beginners (ie Beginner Skier/Snowboarder Trip) and some from the crazy advanced people (Silverton Mtn, Winter 14’ers). The trips are tons of fun because you get to hang out with a bunch of other people that enjoy doing that particular activity.

Also we are very easy to get along with; we provide basically everything to get you there to have fun: transportation, lodging, lift tickets, equipment, food, etc can be covered in a single trip. Also we are very inexpensive as we are funded by the University of Denver AUSA and that we get big group discounts wherever we go due to our strong relationships we have built over the years.

You really don’t want to miss out on these trips, check our events page to see what is currently happening. And our Trip Overviews page to get a better understanding of what happens on each type of trip that we do.

On-Campus Programs
Each quarter we do 2-5 major programs that happen on-campus that range from our rowdy ski/snowboard film premieres at places like to the Gothic Theater to instruction from a myriad of highly qualified outdoor people to photo and film contests. Thousands of students each year come to these and we are a major staple in on-campus activities. Check our events page to see what is currently happening.

Membership Hook-ups
Just being a member gets you access to some great benefits. Not only do you get an awesome T-shirt and Nalgene, you also get some sick sponsorship deals at outdoor shops, climbing gyms, ski shops, food, magazines, etc (check Sponsorship page for details). Lastly being a member means you get discounts on all of our trips and several of our programs.

We have the hook-ups; many times throughout the year companies will just hook us up and then you get to benefit greatly from them. Highlights have been a deal with Flylow Gear with wholesale prices and a 30% discount from Teton Gravity Research plus numerous other companies.

Community
You are looking at DU’s largest single club and trust us you can meet a ton of people that have interests similar to yours. With nearly 10% of the school each year as members of the club plus the thousands that come to our events you just might meet someone (depending how good your pick-up lines are). We are a strong outdoor community and all we want to do is have tons of fun and be involved in the numerous outdoor activities.

The Conclusion
Awesome trips, fun and sometimes informative programs, strong community, big hook-ups…we work our hardest to make sure you are beyond satisfied and that you enjoy your time here at DU.

Check out our current events, membership info and experience to see what the club is really about.
