Kathryne Ellington Memorial Endowment In February 2001, the University of Denver community lost a dear friend, Kathryne Ellington. Katie was on an Alpine Club trip to Telluride, Colorado, when she lost control and died in a skiing accident. Since then, students, the Alpine Club, and the University of Denver have established the Kathryne Ellington Endowment Fund. All donations will be used to provide ski or snowboard lessons and equipment rentals to inexperienced students who have never had this opportunity. Donations work in a number of ways; each year we hold a variety of fundrasing opportunities to collect funds to keep putting into the endowment. One of the major ways that we do this is by selling raffle tickets for a hand-made quilt made by Karyn Ellington and Kathryne Alderman. We sell each ticket for $5.00 and all proceeds go directly into the fund. The drawing usually occurs the end of October. If you are interested in donating please contact the president of the club.
