The Local’s Guidebook: Getting You Started in the Right Direction
You have come to one of the most ideally located schools in the country for a incredibly wide range of activities; however you might have no clue where to start. This part is designed to give all DU students the insight to some of the hottest local climbing, biking, running, camping, skiing, kayaking spots and all the details that you need to know (aka skiing season pass info, rules/regulations, when to go, difficulty, etc).
This little guidebook is a collection of what we think are some of the best spots around. We invite you to take a look and hopefully you will enjoy them as much as we do. Our trips as a club are designed for longer excursions to bring you to some amazing spots; this here is for that open afternoon you might have, or a short weekend trip. And if you have questions on spots or would like to suggest something (or looking for a partner in crime) hit up one of the officers. More then likely you will see us creeping around these spots.
Get Started! The Gear and Knowledge to Begin New Activities
Lastly we provide some basic info on each of the sites on how to get into that particular activity, the equipment you will need, the level of risk involved, the knowledge you will need, and any other resource we find valid. This will be a good spot for you to start venturing into new sports.
Enjoy!
Locations Broken Down by Activity:
All of these sports have inherent risks and can be extremely dangerous, use extreme caution when venturing out. Many of these sports if not properly done can result in extreme injury including death. We recommend that you always try something new with people that are experienced and willing to ensure safety first.
