The DU Alpine Club will be hosting the 2nd Annual GEAR SWAP on Wednesday, Oct. 28th, from 6-10pm in Driscoll Underground.
We will have our sponsors there in FULL FORCE (including Flylow Jackets, SickStickz Ski Poles, Icelantic Skis, Division West, and Wilderness Exchange) and we will also have Sunlight Ski & Bike bringing out skis, snowboards, and gear from companies like K2, Volkl, Dynastar, Burton, Sims, Scott, Smith, RED, Nordica, Technica, Marker and more, all at RIDICULOUSLY LOW PRICES!
ALL DU STUDENTS & FACULTY WELCOME! Entry is $2, and $5 to sell your own gear.  Get your ski/board edged and waxed for only $15!
All Proceeds go to the Katheryne Ellington Memorial Fund.

Matchstick Productions’ premier of In Deep: The Skiing Experience was a huge hit with the Alpine Club!  Over 50 members came with us to the Gothic Theater, and the winner of the Saucer Boy Contest was none other than a member of the club himself!  And, on top of all that, we got a shout-out on the MSP Tour Blog!  Check out the post here, and if you came, see if you can spot yourself in the picture below!

Starting next week we’ll be selling tickets for Teton Gravity Research’s new film, “Re:Sessions”, on October 15th at the Gothic Theater! We’ll also be at Rage Film’s premier of “Pretty Good” in Davis Auditorium on Campus on Friday, October 6th, and we will be offering discounted tickets to Powderwhore’s new film, “Flakes,” on November 6th at the Oriental Theater.

Ever seen a ski movie created by Matchstick Productions?  This ain’t no Warren Miller; this is high-octane, pure skiing at its finest with the likes of Mark Abma, Simon Dumont, and the late Shane McConkey.

The Alpine Club will have tickets for $15 during our Wednesday night meeting at 8PM in Lind­say Auditorium and free MSP Stickers.

Thursday night we will have a FREE bus leaving from Schwayder Art Building at 8PM and picking us up after the show.  Come with us!  Saucer Boy will be there!

Hey everyone!!!

We are gearing up for another insane school year full of plenty of amazing trips and on-campus events. We will be all over campus holding tabling events where you can talk to some of the officers about the club as well as sign-up for Membership.

If you are brand new then Welcome!!! We hope to see you at any of our weekly Wednesday night meetings and hopefully on one of our infamous trips! If you are one of the 350 people have been around awhile we are stoked to have you back and looking forward to skiing fresh powder, climbing beautiful rock, and having great adventures with all of you.

Here is a sampling of some of the major upcoming Trips and Events for the Fall Quarter:

  • Ski/Snowboard Film Tours: Each year TGR and Matchstick throw down some amazing film premieres. We are always there making sure we are the loudest bunch.
  • Moab, Utah: Lifetime destination; more people have gone to Moab with us over the years then any other destination. It is easy to see why: Climbing, Biking, Hiking, Camping all in the most picturesque location possible.
  • Day Hiking/Climbing/Biking Trips: Day trips for all ability levels to get you situated to Colorado and the Front Range.
  • Climbing/Backpacking/Hiking/etc: More trips to amazing areas all over Colorado. Stay tuned for details.

Catch us out in front of Sturm Hall during the days or at any of our Weekly Wednesday Night Meetings 8:00pm in Lindsay Auditorium in Sturm.
