Off-Campus Trips

There is a ton of stuff going on this weekend in celebration of the upcoming winter.

TONIGHT, Friday November 13th, our good friends from Icelantic and Flylow will be having a season kick-off party at Gov’ner’s Park at 7th and Logan.  Free drinks if you know who to ask (me) and a ski raffle will be going on.  The shin-dig starts at 5PM and the raffle and a Toast to the Snow Gods takes place at 10PM.  See you there!

Also in Denver this weekend is the Colorado SnowSports Expo happening at the Convention Center all weekend long.  If you didn’t make it to the Gear Swap this past Wednesday be sure to check it out, reps from almost every company will be there and selling all this year’s stuff and more, plus a lot of mountains will be there giving out free stickers and lift tickets and whatnot.  There are some great deals to be held, and plenty of schwag to go around.  You can find more information here and get yourself a $2-off ticket coupon.

Finally, for those of you venturing off into the mountains, please be sure to check out the Friend of CAIC Benefit Bash taking place on Saturday at 5PM.  $20 will get you dinner, 3 beers (if you’re old enough) and a door prize drawing ticket, and you’ll be supporting a great cause.  Click here or the flyer below for more info.

Have a great weekend, and winter trips will be up next week!

Let’s be honest- there are a lot of things you shouldn’t do unprotected…Going up to the mountains is one of them!

If you’re spending quality time in the snow, spend some time in an Avy 1 class! Get certified for this essential training while spending time in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park! The certification lasts as long as you live- and lets be honest, you might live longer if you take the class!

Sign ups are this Wednesday, the 21st at 8 pm in Sturm Hall, room 281 (hint; it’s Lindsey Auditorium)! You can also sign up to be a member and find out more about our other super rad trips this winter!
