For 2009, MSP Films takes an original look at the sport of skiing. All of the skiers in the film—park rat or big mountain charger—share a common bond: the overwhelming desires to ski. With the progressive skiing and award-winning cinematography that has made MSP famous, MSP Films takes you along for the ride deep into the experience as we share the love for the greatest sport in the world.

Oh, the endless possibilities of the winter time! Skiing, snowboarding, ice climbing, snowshoeing…avalanches!?! Make sure that that last one doesn’t catch you off guard! DUAC has only a couple spots left for our Avalanche 1 Training and Certification course. Offered only once every two or three years, you really can’t afford to miss out! The training takes place in Estes Park and goes from Friday the 30th to Sunday, February 1st. A ride, a place to stay and the course are all included.

What’s after Avy 1??? You’ve asked for it, we’ve delivered the goods; Winter Carnival, DUAC style. Whether you’ve missed the deadline for tickets or just didn’t know how cool Winter Carnival would actually be, make sure you don’t miss out. Snag the deals that DUPB has gotten you and chill in Winter Park in a sick condo DUAC has rented out for a killer weekend. A ride, ski passes, and a place to stay are part of the deal.

Scratching off other weekend activities yet? Good. Snag a spot in either trip (or both!) this Wednesday, the 28th at 8pm in Sturm Hall, room 281 (Lindsey Auditorium.)

Got questions? No worries. Chris.manning@du.edu is your source of knowledge.

Let’s be honest- there are a lot of things you shouldn’t do unprotected…Going up to the mountains is one of them!

If you’re spending quality time in the snow, spend some time in an Avy 1 class! Get certified for this essential training while spending time in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park! The certification lasts as long as you live- and lets be honest, you might live longer if you take the class!

Sign ups are this Wednesday, the 21st at 8 pm in Sturm Hall, room 281 (hint; it’s Lindsey Auditorium)! You can also sign up to be a member and find out more about our other super rad trips this winter!

Thanks to the 250+ people that made it out to the first meeting of the year!!! If you missed it, fear not we will have more meetings and more times for you to check out the club.

If you are interested in Membership or have any questions about the Club we will have a table out in front of Sturm Hall on the Driscoll Lawn Monday-Thursday from about 10:30-3:00 (or so). Come by and talk to one of the officers about the club, sign-up for the membership, or just kick it with other outdoor people.

If you received a raffle ticket at the meeting we will be having the raffle next Wednesday at 8:00pm in Lindsay Auditorium (RM 281) in Sturm Hall. You must be present to win prizes such as backpacks, snow-googles, t-shirts, and maybe even a date with one of the officers…only if you are real lucky.

Keep rockin…
