You know you’ve got a good few weeks ahead of you when that’s your schedule.
First up: February 13-15; Telluride/Ouray. Drive down with us Friday night, ski and climb Saturday and Sunday and try to get in on the 25 inches of fresh pow that’s fallen on the Durango area.
Then: Two day trips, don’t try to pick just one. First, Feb. 19, a nighttime snowshoe, under the star filled Colorado sky. Add a quirk to your normal weekend and come along!! And to follow; Everyone knows Breck…do you know Quandary peak? Get familiar at 14,265 feet and climb this 14-er with us! This is not your average hike so take on a big challenge and see Colorado the way most people have to hop into a chopper to see.
And last but NOT AT ALL LEAST; Silverton. The reason you ride in places other than Wisconsin, probably the reason you came to DU; fresh, backcountry powder…GUIDED. This is one of two trips that are not open to all levels in the club and you’d best be ready to bring your A game to Silverton. Think challenging hikes for un-ridden runs, and Guides to show you the way…Sign ups are early, so if you want in, get on board THIS WEDNESDAY, the 11th at 8 pm in Sturm 281.
